What We Believe

All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe in one eternal God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit—the Trinity. (Matthew 28:19) 

 We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1-4; Philippians 2:5-11) 

 We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believing sinner, and indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for godly living and service. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8) 

 We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works but is freely given to all who repent of their sins and trust in Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10) 

 We believe in the true Church, the living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, who have gathered for worship, fellowship, and ministry. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 10:24-25) 

 We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life with God, and the lost to everlasting separation from God. (John 5:28-29) 

We believe that water baptism by immersion is the public declaration of a believer's faith, symbolizing their death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ. We believe the Lord’s Supper, or Communion, is a memorial of Christ's sacrificial death. These two ordinances are to be observed by all true believers in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
